Little Lessons About a Successful Project From Ocean's 8

Have you watched Ocean's 8? Personally I love this movie. For me this movie is amusing and satisfying. I've always loved caper or heist movies. It's not a rare genre, so many titles belong to this group. Back then I watched Hustle series on TV. Currently, there is Confidence Man JP airing on WakuWaku Japan channel.

Okay, so I really like this movie that I think I need to talk about this movie. But talking merely about the movie, the plot, the casts would be boring since many others have covered those things. Just type "Ocean's 8" and you will find tons of pages talking about many sides of this movie. So my approach is to talk about what we could learn from this movie. Yeah, probably it's so lame approach. But I need to talk about this movie! #insist hahaha.

Yup, this movie taught something about a successful project. And it's very logical.

#1 Successful projects need a good plan

How long did it take you to figure all this out? | Five years, eight months, and twelve days.

Well, women are always right so there is no reason their action would go wrong :D. In fact, their heist was an absolute success. But long way before they did it, Debbie Ocean were building the plan behind the bars days and nights. Every successful project needs a good plan. And "good" comes with many other words such as detailed, well calculated, well measured, feasible, etc etc etc. Good thing doesn't happen overnight. You need to work on it. As Benjamin Franklin said, "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!"

#2 Successful projects need a good team

Even if this was possible you’d need twenty people. | Seven people.

Disclaimer, this rule doesn't apply if you're going solo. To make a team, you need to consider quality over quantity. Why would you use twenty if seven will do? But don't insist to use seven if you know you need eight. In the movie you'd see that not all of them are con-man (or con-woman?) but all of them are good at what they do. Having experts in your team is a good thing, but it is no less important to have the right man on the right place. You don't want to ruin your project just because you assign the wrong task to the wrong person. So, yes, you need a good team, a team you can trust.

So, that's all that I could write about Ocean's 8. Hope you enjoy it.
Have a good day fellas!
